Brrrr! Blizzard! Brr!

Winter finally hit last night.  Oh, it's been cold, in the teens already, and a few skiffs of snow here, with plenty up above on the mountain.  But it dumped a foot overnight, and commenced blowing about 5:00 am, the windchimes tinkling and treetops began to unload.  Supposed to hit 40mph winds this afternoon.  Think I'll stay inside and think seed catalogs....glad I am not on the road to craft fairs today!

I'm glad you are not on the road either! That would NOT be fun! I have never been in cold like they are forecasting the next few days. I went snowshoeing today though, and it was so wonderful!

Another thing, do you sell any fruit trees or can you tell me who does? We realized that we really need to plant some local ones and have an orchard some day.

It is glorious when the sun is out in below zero weather--but the skin can sure freeze fast. It's due to be about -15F to -20 by Wed, you will love that. Well, probably not! The coldest we usually get here is about -25, and it's so hard on everything. Do you have a block heater for your car? I have the tractor and my truck plugged in. North Dakota where I did grad school gets to -50ish, that was bizarre.
Yay! The sun just came up...goofy mountain in the way. . .

I don't usually have fruit trees (grapes & berries, yes) but am slowly getting there. I used to get trees from a place in Northport WA but they went under; Miller nurseries (no rel as far as I know) in New York state are good, as are St. Lawrence Nurseries. I've gotten some nice antiques and pink fleshed apples from them. I'll dig up the links.
